It’s been over a year now that my faithful girlfriend accompanies me on passable and less passable terrain: my Land Rover Defender. But she still had no name. It took some searching and thinking but in the end I gave her the only proper name: Llv.
Llv is an old Norwegian girl’s name and stands for protection and defend (indeed Defender).
About her qualities, I found the following:
‘Llv possesses the tools to become an original person with a creative approach to problem solving, and a penchant for initiating action. Someone may have to follow behind Llv to handle the details (me …?), But Llv knows how to get things going and make things happen. Llv has a good mind and the ability to use it for her advancement. Llv has little need for much supervision, preferring to act on her own with little restraint. Llv is both ambitious and determined. Self-confident and self-reliant must be hers, as Llv develops a strong unyielding will and the courage of her convictions. Although Llv fears loneliness, Llv wants to be left alone. Llv fears routine and being in a rut. Llv often jumps the gun because Llv is afraid of being left behind.’
Llv is also reminiscent of the Grumman LLV, a van for the United States Postal Service that had to be deployable in most places. Originally. The lifetime of this car was set at 24 years, but later extended to 30 years.
Llv may continue to be my girlfriend for the next thirty years!
